Ginhawa Project

Lice-Free Learning for Every Child

Project Ginhawa is a community-based hygiene and dignity initiative by the MaxaM Foundation that provides free head lice treatment and emotional support for underprivileged schoolchildren in the Philippines. Recognizing that head lice infestations impact confidence, school attendance, and well-being, this project offers holistic care through both practical treatment and emotional healing.

Objectives

  • Provide free, safe lice treatment kits and education to selected schools

  • Restore student dignity and reduce absenteeism caused by lice infestations

  • Educate families and communities on prevention and hygiene care

Core Activities

  • Distribution of Lice Treatment Kits (Makabuhay ointment/coconut oil, combs, towels, instructions)

  • Hygiene & Empowerment Education (school-based sessions, coloring sheets, parent leaflets)

  • "Kumustahan" Circles (emotional check-ins led by volunteers or MaxaM Ambassadors)

  • Follow-up Monitoring with school nurses and community leaders

Project Ginhawa will be funded through a collaborative model led by the MaxaM Foundation in partnership with the Celestial Universe 2026 pageant, where national directors, candidates, and sponsors will contribute through advocacy activities and sponsorship packages.

Set for implementation in February 2026 during a school visit in Ilocos Sur, the project will be supported by a portion of the proceeds from the pageant’s tuition assistance program, dedicated donations, and CSR-driven partners.

This initiative reflects a unified mission to promote both hygiene and mental well-being among children, using creative, culturally-rooted tools like the “Buhok Ko’y Korona” coloring book to foster dignity and healing in underserved schools.
